Teaching Professional: Denny Foster

Denny Foster is recognized throughout the Caribbean as one of the foremost golf instructors in the region. He was instrumental in starting the Caribbean Junior Golf Championships some 21 years ago and has been the coach of the Barbados Junior Golf Team ever since.

In recognition of his work with juniors, U.S. Kids Golf invited Denny to be a Director of Golf on two occasions at the U.S. Kids Golf World Championships at the Golden Horseshoe in Williamsburg, Virginia.

When the World Cup of Golf was played in Barbados in 2006, the only time that a PGA Tour event has ever been played on the island, Denny was appointed by the Barbados Golf Association as manager/coach of the Barbados team. He was responsible for the selection of the te

am, the raising of funds, and, of course, the training of the two players and their caddies. When Barbados won the prize as the best Caribbean team, ahead of Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica, (and Japan!) it was a moment of great joy and pride to all Barbadian golfers.

Denny recently wrote an instruction manual entitled 1-2-3-4 Golf. This manual has been endorsed by Ian Woosnam, the great Welsh golfer, who wrote the Foreword and kindly consented to be the model golfer throughout the book.
